Mobile Number Portability - MNP Rolled Out

Delayed by 3 Years, MNP rolled out in India.
Mobile phone users have more freedom now, to Select the Operator they wish, that too without changing the Phone Number.That also in a nominal cost of Rs.19.00 [In Most of the other Countries  this service is free!].This facility was implemented in Haryana in the first Stage by Last Year.
Both Postpaid and Prepaid customers in GSM and CDMA service can Avail this facility.However, the Operator can be changed in the Current Service Area Only, and Once Switched, another change will not be allowed for a minimum of 90 Days.The process of changing the Operator and switching to new should not take more than 4 Days.

The Process Includes the following
  • Contact new Operator/Service Provider and Check for Eligibility
  • Get Customer acquisition From (CAF) & Porting Form
  • Obtain Your Port Number by sending PORT to 1900
  • You will get SMS with your unique porting code in It
  • Submit duly filled CAF and Porting Form, along with Documents required [Eg:Last month bill for Post Paid Customers]
  • The new Provider Claims the number and New SIM Card will be issued to Customer
  • Prepaid balance will not be Carry forwarded
